DK-Architects worked closely with the contractor, the National Society of Master Thatchers, and Jhai Building Control Services to deliver the first building in the UK to employ vertical thatching on such a scale. Along with giving the building a bold distinctiveness, the thatch contributes to the local character of the area, with a large number of traditional thatched cottages found throughout Formby.
Internally, the development provides a range of spaces from open plan offices for telesales to various smaller team and cellular offices, meeting spaces, a reception, a café area and a dramatic vaulted space containing a large board room and manager’s office – all fitted out with bespoke timber finishes and high-quality furniture and fittings.
