Garden Pavilion, Formby

A 2-storey garden pavilion for a growing family to provide a private gymnasium, changing and bathing room, small utility area, and a large relaxation lounge looking back across the garden towards the main house.

Conceived as a glass box in the garden, the design employs large areas of glazing to both reduce the impact of the structure within the garden and at the same time to maximise the views across the garden from within the building. However, traditional materials previously used in the fa├žade treatments of the existing house have been re-employed in certain elements of the new pavilion to provide a sense of visual connection between the two.
